Thursday night saw the great and good of British television don their finest ensembles and gather for the 27th annual National Television Awards.
This 2022 NTAs were broadcasted live from a brand new venue of Wembley’s OVO Arena, London with Joel Dommett hosting.
And despite not being in attendance, the 2022 ceremony proved to be a success for Ant and Dec as they bagged their 21st consecutive Best Presenter award.
Their pair fought off stiff competition from the likes of Alison Hammond, whom host Joel had previously tipped to finally end the pair’s 20-year winning streak.
Unfortunately, the TV duo were not there to accept their awards as they have both fallen ill with Covid and had to stay at home – with Stephen Mulhern accepting on their behalf.

‘They’re both feeling really poorly but will be watching the show from bed and hope to be well and working again soon.’
There were double celebrations for the duo as their show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! won The Bruce Forsyth Award – with Danny Miller accepting the gong.
Meanwhile, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were booed by some members of the audience, before This Morning was announced as the winner of Best Daytime Award.
The presenters found themselves at the centre of the ‘queuegate’ controversy’ in September when they were accused of skipping the queue to see the Queen lying in state, which they both denied.
