Beau Ryan and MAFS stars celebrate State of Origin opening game

It’s the biggest sporting event of the Australian calendar, bringing out a fierce rivalry between fans in New South Wales and Queensland.

And even the celebrities got caught up in the State Of Origin frenzy on Wednesday, as they declared their allegiances by showing off their colours.

From Footy Show host Beau Ryan dressing up with his baby son Jesse to Karl Stefanovic lunging at the TV screen, the stars couldn’t contain their excitement.

‘Can anyone explain what I’ve got myself into with this one,’ she deadpanned in the caption.

Elsewhere, Beau Ryan donned his NSW Blues uniform, while his eight-month-old son Jesse was dressed up in a Queensland Maroons T-shirt by his wife Kara.

Sharing a father-son selfie on Instagram, Beau wrote in the caption: ‘So I just got home and realised @kararyan_ got to him first. #StartEmYoung.’

Troy joked: ‘Queensland always play dirty! (Carly too) So lucky that Origin is coming to Melbs! I’ll be there screaming on the blues.’

Looking to put a stop to the Maroons’ 13 year reign of dominance, NSW have chosen a new look team, where 11 players will don the sky blue jersey for the first time.
