BEAUTY BUZZ: Join the Chanel masterclass

Brush up on your make-up skills as the professionals share their know-how

Pencils down, everyone – there’s a new school in town. Chanel’s London Studio (located in Harrods) is lifting the lid on its make-up secrets with a series of masterclasses.

From this Friday, tutorials will showcase the brand’s S/S 18 Naples collection: a seductive array of shades inspired by the architecture and surrounding landscape of the Southern Italian city.

Inspired by Naples and its surrounding landscape (above), the new Chanel collection features a range of powders, palettes and nail polishes

My heroes are the Poudres à Lèvres palettes in Rosso Pompeiano and Rosso Parthenope (£31 each) – duos with a balm and powdery tint that bring a just-kissed effect to lips when the former is applied beneath the latter.

You may love Les 9 Ombres Edition No 1 eye palette in Affresco (£67) for its rich greens, pretty pinks and dusty neutrals, or Le Vernis nail shades in mint green Verde Pastello or sunshine yellow Giallo Napoli (£22 each, all chanel.com).

Sheet masks for our skin were the hit of 2017. So clever Redken has come up with All Soft Megamask (£12, redken.co.uk) – a version to help dry, puffy and fluffy hair (from February).

All those falling foul of frizz during the damp weather, simply wrap your locks in the aluminium cap, then massage it into the scalp. The mask locks in moisture and smooths the cuticle, leaving hair sleek, shiny and fluff-free in ten minutes. Top with this season’s oversized bow and you’ll be good to go.

Everyone from fashion designer Amanda Wakeley to model Laura Bailey rave about nutritionist Gabriela Peacock, so join in the action with her supplement regimes (£9.99 for a three-day pack, gpnutrition.com). We chose Clean Me for January, the month of detoxing.

Via capsules and dissolvable powders, this mini kit delivers everything from broccoli and artichoke extracts to copper, zinc and CoQ10 to help prevent free-radical damage caused by pollution, alcohol, poor diet and even certain make-up formulas.

This week we’re… scheduling one long, steaming soak with Who Loves You Bashail Skin Revitalising Bath Elixir (£25, wholovesyou.co.uk): a salt and essential oils combination that you mix together before pouring into the bath.

It contains 84 minerals, vitamins C and E, as well as coconut and jojoba oils, Epsom and Himalayan salts to hydrate and detoxify  skin. Lock the door and steep in loveliness.
