BEAUTY BUZZ: On my Very Important Present list

If there’s one thing beauty excels at, it’s fun, sparkles and decadence – all the ingredients for a truly merry Christmas. The even better news is that whether you’re shopping for sybarites, stocking fillers or yourself, there’s something to suit all budgets. Here’s what I’m putting on my VIP (very important present) list…

Take headband inspiration from the Elie Saab A/W 17 runway show

Is it a headband? Is it a choker? Kitsch has both covered with this cool trio of bands. Not only is the Adjustable Headband/Choker Set in Gold or Silver very Elie Saab A/W 17, but by my calculation, it provides six super-smart looks (around £12, mykitsch.com).

What do you get for the make-up lover who has everything, when money is no object? I would say the Victoria Beckham Collection Troussede Maquillage: Noir Makeup Kit (£550, esteelauder.co.uk) should fit the bill.

This limited-edition collection features six heroes chosen by VB herself, including the Morning Aura Illuminating Crème, Matte Lipstick in Victoria and Highlighter in Modern Mercury. All sit prettily in a calf leather pouch that I, for one, would use as a clutch. It’s far too lovely to be left languishing in the bathroom.

There is a reason why Chanel No 5 has stood the test of time: women everywhere love it. Which is why the shimmering, scented Fragments D’Or (£70, chanel.com) limited-edition body gel is the ultimate beauty crowd pleaser.

Love the shades, love the bottle, love the staying power: yes, I adore everything about Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer (£16, johnlewis.com) – and I have a feeling that you will too. Out of the different shades, my money is on gorgeous, sparkly Petra, but Daisy, Jezebel or Lola will please all palettes.

A present list wouldn’t be complete without something for him. Keep it cool, quirky and practical with Mr Masey’s Beard Oil in Coffee & Biccies, Brilliant or Bristling (£13, mr-masey.co.uk).

As presents go, a hair product won’t always spring to mind. But this is no ordinary hair oil – it is the Nintendo-inspired Shu Uemura Art of Hair x Super Mario Essence Absolue (£41.50, feelunique.com). It nourishes, de-frizzes and it makes me want my childhood Gameboy back now.

I have no idea whether the catwalk crew drink Supermodel Secret Matcha Tea by Kissa (£15, Harrods). But the idea alone is enough for me to give it a whirl. One for the January detox.
