Beauty influencer shares the lavish treatments she had for two years before her wedding

It’s supposed to be the most important day of your life, but even if you didn’t grow up with a dream to get married, then many women will still engage in some sort of pre-wedding beauty preparation.

Eleanor Pendleton is no exception.

The Sydney-based beauty influencer and editor of Gritty Pretty recently shared the two-year lead-up to her destination nuptials, revealing the exercise, beauty, teeth, skin and hair regimes she followed.

Here, FEMAIL reveals some of the details of Eleanor’s elaborate beauty regime, and the countdown from 24 months to the day of the wedding.

24 MONTHS OUT

While you might not think that wedding prep needs to start as early as two years out from your wedding, for Eleanor the first thing to get in order was her hair.

‘When Mat and I became engaged my hair was shoulder length. I decided to grow it out immediately to give myself more options come our wedding day,’ the 29-year-old explained.

And so, she started getting regular trims and used a hair mask – usually by Oribe or David Mallett – once a week.

Alongside this, Eleanor focused on her desire to have ‘perfect teeth’ for her wedding day.

Booking in to a dentist, she invested time and money into Invisalign.

‘Most people didn’t know I wore clear aligners for almost 18 months and I was able to be 100 per cent confident on my wedding day wearing my best accessory: my smile,’ she said.

12 MONTHS OUT

By the time she was one year out from her dream ceremony, Eleanor knew she had to take charge of her fitness.

Admitting that prior to the nuptials she ‘wasn’t in great shape’, the 29-year-old said she signed up to a Pilates programme at Vive Active on Sydney’s Northern beaches.

Eleanor said she ‘quickly became addicted’ to the synchronised light and music that accompanied the classes, and started attending Pilates three to four times a week.

Before she knew it, her body started to look more toned, while her muscles looked more defined.

The good news is that Eleanor said that adopting Pilates has been a lifestyle change – she has kept it up well beyond the wedding.

NINE MONTHS OUT

Nine months away from the big day, Eleanor said it was time to tackle her skin – and schedule nine appointments to ‘truly improve’ her complexion.

Turning to celebrity facialist Jocelyn Petroni – who has looked after the likes of Jessica Gomes and Rachael Finch – Eleanor said she started having facials each month, which included a combination of ‘Reiki, Shiatsu and Lymphatic drainage massage to increase blood circulation’.

She also embraced fruit enzyme peels, lactic acid, AHAs, BHAs, Vitamin A and Vitamin C.

SIX MONTHS OUT

With just six months left, Eleanor said she upped her facial frequency to once every fortnight.

When at home, Eleanor also started using a retinol product every few days at nighttime.

She also swore by HydroPeptide Nimni Cream and Alpha-H Beauty Sleep Power Peel, as well as cult product, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream.

ONE WEEK OUT

The day before Eleanor and her husband-to-be left Sydney to fly to the Philippines, she scheduled an appointment with eyelash artist and ‘lash queen’, Amy Jean.

The beauty editor had a ‘lash elevate’ treatment done, which she explained is kind of like a ‘perm for your eyelashes’.

She then had an appointment with her brow guru, Lien Davies, and had a ‘naked manicure’ so her nails were primed for a manicure on the day.

Because she is naturally tanned, Eleanor said she didn’t need to have a spray tan. But her bridesmaids had St. Tropez spray tans in the lead-up.

ON THE DAY

The final stage was the morning of her wedding. Upon waking, Eleanor said she did 30 minutes of meditation and enjoyed an ocean swim before starting hair and make up five hours before the ceremony.

Products used included Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser, La Prairie Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation and Becca and Tom Ford highlighters for a ‘glow’.

Eleanor settled with her favourite lipstick – Chanel Rouge Allure in Amoureux – and had her hair loosely tousled for a ‘relaxed and feminine feel’.

She then chose two perfumes: Byredo La Tulipe for the ceremony and Grandiflora Madagascan Jasmine for the reception, gifting her guests with a Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Sal cologne for the memories.
