The beauty queen widow of slain gangster John Macris confessed she still isn’t sure how she and her children will carry on with their lives.

Former Playboy model Viktoria Karida said the October 31 alleged murder of her husband outside their home in Greece came as a complete shock.

Macris, 46, never mentioned he had any enemies, and Ms Karida said she wasn’t aware of any death threats against her husband.

Ms Karida said she ‘sits like a vegetable inside the house,’ since her husband’s death. 

‘I’m completely lost,’ she said during an interview on SKAI TV. 

She said their two children miss their father and revealed she was not sure they understand he will never come home.

‘They are both so sad and I don’t know if they really understand that their Babaka (Dad) will never come back.’

The couple’s daughter Alexandra often writes her father poems and speaks to him ‘while looking at the sky’.  

‘I still haven’t been able to get rid of any of his clothes, I actually wear them so that I can smell him on me. Every night I leave a piece of dark chocolate next to our bed, as that was his favourite and still think he is with us.’ 

‘I try to do everything in order not to break down and I know Giannis would want me to be strong for the kids.’

Macris was allegedly shot dead by a lone gunman outside the couple’s home in Voula, a suburb in Athens. 

The alleged gunman fired off six shots, with four hitting Macris in the chest, abdomen and shoulder, in what police said was an organised hit.   

Macris moved to Greece after fleeing Australia in 2013 when a warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to attend court for sentencing on a conviction for driving while his license was cancelled.

He had been involved in Sydney’s organised crime scene and was once the target of an alleged murder plot in the city.

In Athens, he appeared as a businessman and reportedly owned a security company.

He was well known on the island of Mykonos, often rubbing shoulders with A-List celebrities.

Police believe the murder was a contract killing and charged the alleged hitman Yuliyanov J Raychev Serafim in April.

He is fighting the charges.
