A care home in Essex has offered an unusual type of entertainment for it’s elderly residents – sexy belly dancing.

Two scantily-clad women entertained fifteen people in their 80s and 90s by gyrating and performing dances wearing crop tops and long skirts with high slits.

The residents of the Southend & Westcliff Jewish Community Centre in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex watched wide-eyed as the two women performed on Thursday.

David Leigh, a carpet fitter, was there to measure an area for a job and caught a glimpse of the show.

‘I heard music and saw a half-naked girl dancing. Everyone in the audience was loving what they saw. Many had a twinkle in their eye.

‘I measured up as fast as I could then went back hoping the show was still on. I was delighted because there were now two belly dancers performing.

‘Elderly men were lifting walking sticks and tapping Zimmer frames to signal approval. They couldn’t believe their luck’ the dad-of-one told the Sun.

One of the dancers, Sitara Svanda, later posted on Facebook ‘A lovely afternoon entertaining the older members of our community then down onto the beach for after performance photos! #southendonsea #bellydancers #essex’

It comes just days after another care home came under fire for providing pole dancing entertainment for its elderly residents.

The Fairmile Grange home in Christchurch, Dorset, organised the ‘inappropriate’ activity usually associated with lap dancing clubs for about 30 pensioners, both male and female.

Bosses at the home have defended the entertainment, saying the residents had ‘wanted something a bit different’, had specifically asked for pole dancing and enjoyed the show.
