Below Deck: Dani Soares sleeping just four hours a night as single mum

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Dani Soares has been juggling work, study and motherhood ever since the birth of her daughter Lilly last May.

And the single mum is certainly feeling the strain, revealing that she’s been sleeping just four hours night while trying to balance everything.

The 33-year-old, who is currently in nursing school, admitted on Instagram that she felt like she was ‘dying of sleep deprivation’ after being in class all day.

Tough times: Below Deck Down Under’s Dani Soares is only sleeping four hours a night as she juggles nursing school with raising her daughter Lilly

‘Luckily I live what I study, but going to sleep at 3am and waking up at 7am is not great,’ she said.

The Brazilan-born stewardess previously worked as a beauty therapist, but it’s unclear if she still has her job or not.

She recently brought her mum over from Brazil to help her manage motherhood, after the pair were separated for two years due to Covid restrictions.

Dani recently shared a selfie with her mum and daughter Lilly, captioning it: ‘Three generations of strong women.

‘Today I’m grateful to have my mum with me. I never thought she would make the trip across the world on her own.’

In January, Dani’s former co-star and boyfriend Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux finally confirmed that he was Lilly’s father, seven months after her May 29 birth.

‘An international DNA test that was done a while ago was no small feat. I’m happy and proud to say sweet and beautiful Lilly Rose is my daughter,’ the 26-year-old deckhand wrote on Instagram from San Felipe, Panama.

‘Dani and I have been working and communicating together to the best of our ability; given Dani is a full time mother and worker, and I being gone for extended periods of time not knowing when I will step back on land.

‘This is imperative for the sake of our daughter as she needs both parents in her life.’

Jean-Luc went on to say he’s been focusing on his mental health and ‘will be striving to be the best man and father that I can be.’

The North Carolina native was upset after Dani told Andy Cohen during the Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion last June: ‘He thinks it’s not his child, he doesn’t want to have anything to do with it.’

At first, Jean-Luc claimed he did not want to take an international DNA test because he’d prefer to do it ‘together’ but Australia closed its borders due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Dani has been busy focusing on nursing school and being a mum.

‘I actually did an exam one week after Lilly was born. It was a practical exam where I had to do a patient’s vital signs and when I finished I looked down and my boobs had leaked,’ Soares told Daily Mail Australia in January.

‘I have two more years of study and I should graduate at the end of 2023. I went back to work when Lilly was four months, just after the last lockdown, and it was terrible to start with because she wouldn’t take a bottle so I had to run to childcare every three hours and breastfeed her.

‘It will be very challenging for the next two years studying full time and working part time, but it’s just that push so we can have a better more stable life,’ Dani said.

‘I’m focusing on giving my baby the best life I possibly can and that will come after all the hard work.’
