Ben Fordham’s Ninja Warrior body transformation

Australian Ninja Warrior host Ben Fordham has revealed the how he has lost an impressive 15kg in six months.

The Channel Nine star, 42, told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday he has reduced his weight from 97kg down to 82kg by overhauling his diet and fitness regime.

The father-of-two attributed his impressive body transformation to limiting booze and dessert, regular staircase runs and sweating it out at the gym.

‘I’ve been running up and down stairs and hitting the gym a bit and not eating as many paddle pops,’ the 2GB radio star explained.

He added: ‘I haven’t had beer since October, apart from a couple on the day Bob Hawke died (in May).’

Ben said that he’s consuming less beer and wine, and instead now opts for tequila or vodka if he’s keen for a tipple.

‘I’m drinking less wine and more tequila and vodka. It seems to be working,’ he explained.

Meanwhile, Ben revealed the motivation behind his new slimmed-down physique in an interview with Who magazine on Thursday.

The popular television host said that the super-fit Ninja Warrior contestants actually inspired him to ‘get off his backside and do some exercise’.

‘Ninja’s really inspired me in a way because I’ve found myself all of a sudden, for the first time in my life, getting off my fat a*** and doing some exercise,’ he said.

‘I was just sick of looking at all these fit people while I was sitting in the commentary box eating sausage rolls and then washing it down with something to drink, and some chocolate and lollies and whatever.’

Late last month, Ben revealed hypnosis also helped him shed a few pounds.

Ben told Lawrence Mooney on Triple M’s Moonman in the Morning radio show in late June that he was hypnotised to stop eating chocolate and to stop drinking beer.

Ben started his weight loss journey at 97kg, and described on the radio show how ‘unbelievably’ good his hypnotist is.

‘I’ve seen you on the tele (sic) lately and obviously you’ve lost a bit of the wine bloat around the face, what are you doing?’ Lawrence asked.

‘Well, I’ve moved the booze from every day of the week to one day of the week, that was a big one,’ Ben explained, before revealing the method he used to do achieve it.

‘Believe it or not, Moonman, I met a hypnotherapist who told me he could hypnotise me into not eating chocolate, ice cream, lollies and drinking as much wine and beer as I was previously.’

When the morning show panel asked what the hypnotist’s phone number was, Ben replied, ‘He did it! I can give you his number mate, he’s unbelievable.’

Ben began his fitness overhaul about six months ago because he said he thought he was ‘too unfit’ and ‘too heavy’.

The media all-rounder said while he was never really overweight, he wasn’t particularly fit either, which made it ‘way too easy’ to continue living the way he was.

Once he made the commitment to get in shape, Ben shook up both his diet and fitness regime, which he believes has set a great example for his son Freddy and daughter Pearl.

Ben will return as host for the upcoming season of Australian Ninja Warrior, which returns on Monday July 8 at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
