Benedict Cumberbatch cut a dapper figure in a powder blue suit as he posed alongside effortlessly chic Kirsten Dunst at premiere of their new film, The Power Of The Dog amid the 78th Venice International Film Festival on Thursday. 

The actor, 45, was sure to turn heads in his tailored outfit as he high-fived his co-star, 39, on the red carpet. 

Kirsten meanwhile looked sensational as she donned a smart navy blue trouser suit and cream blouse for the occasion.

The event begun on Wednesday and continues until September 11. 

The Venice Film Festival is the world’s oldest film festival. It is known as one of the ‘Big Three’ film festivals, alongside the Berlin International Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival.

In the clip, Cumberbatch’s cruel character is seen teasing and tormenting a widow played by Kirsten as he runs a ranch in 1925 Montana alongside his brother George, played by Kirsten’s husband Jesse Plemons.

Though Benedict harasses her character Rose and her on-screen son Peter, George takes a liking to them and marries her.

Furious at his new family members, Phil continues to lash out at Rose.

And critics are expecting the film to get a solid awards season push, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Cumberbatch’s performance already earned him the TIFF Tribute Actor award at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival, which isn’t until next month. 

The Power Of The Dog will be released November 17, 2021 in cinemas and will stream on Netflix on December 1.
