Bernie Sanders 2020 presidential campaign rider calls for his room to be FREEZING

Leaked Bernie Sanders 2020 campaign rider calls for candidate’s hotel room to be FREEZING and for staff to ‘stock up’ on honey packets for his tea if available – as well as check for ‘leaky faucets or slow flushing toilets’

  • Referred to as the ‘Senator Comfort Memo,’ the document offers specific arrangements that need to be for Sanders’ hotels, food, drink, family and staff
  • Marked ‘confidential: for campaign staff use only, not for circulation,’ the two-page memo was dated April 10, 2019
  • While the memo does declare that upgrades to a large suite should be avoided ‘as much as possible,’ SBS does like to utilize small junior suites
  • Desiring to exist in nippy conditions, the memo states that SBS needs a fan in the room if the room’s thermostat does not go below 60 degrees
  • The senator also asks not to be placed near elevators, ice machines or any ‘other high foot traffic spots’

Senator Bernie Sanders likes his hotel rooms cold and does not like slow flushing toilets, according to a leaked tour rider from his 2020 presidential campaign.

Referred to as the ‘Senator Comfort Memo,’ the document offers specific arrangements that need to be met for Sanders’ hotels, food, drink, family and staff.

Marked ‘confidential: for campaign staff use only, not for circulation,’ the two-page memo is dated April 10, 2019 and was first reported by the Smoking Gun Wednesday.

Sanders – called ‘SBS’ in the document – prefers to be put in a non-smoking room that offers ample space so that senator can ‘meet with staff in a comfortable setting.’

While the memo does declare that upgrades to a large suite should be avoided ‘as much as possible,’ SBS does like to utilize small junior suites.

In the event that Bernie is campaigning in a rural city, Sanders has asked to just have a room with a king size bed.

Sanders requests that rooms have a down comforter or at least one extra blanket and also asks that they come stocked with bathtubs if possible.

Desiring to exist in nippy conditions, the memo states that SBS needs a fan in the room if the room’s thermostat does not go below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

‘Always test, set, and run thermostat before arrival,’ the memo states in all caps.

Bernie request that that his accommodations provide the following each day: green tea with honey (saving any excess honey packets), English breakfast tea, a low sugar drink, one small bottle of red Gatorade, one bottle of Smart water, clementines and a small can of unsalted cashews/walnuts/almonds.

The senator does offer specifics as far as don’ts: Sanders doesn’t want to be placed near elevators, ice machines or any ‘other high foot traffic spots.’

Sanders’ children are to have rooms on the same floor as their parents and in the event that Bernie and Jane Sanders’ seven grand kids visit on the tour, hotels with a pool or hot tub are ideal. The children would ideally have rooms adjoining their parents and grandparents.

Prior to his arrival, all rooms should be checked for ‘leaky faucets, slow flushing toilets, slow draining bathtubs.’

Upon departure, the memo states the room needs to be tossed ‘to ensure nothing was left behind.’ Any excess documents need to be shredded.
