Beyonce and Rihanna-Inspired Nail Art

Wearing images of your favorite celebrities on your nails is the hottest nail art trend of the moment.

After a Moscow-based salon made headlines for creating a manicure that featured a tiny likeness of a pregnant Kylie Jenner, a Slovakia-based artist is getting attention for her Rihanna and Beyoncé-inspired looks.

Earlier this month, Iveta Melicharova painted detailed portraits of the singers on white, stiletto-shaped acrylic nails and shared the finished products with her 5,000 Instagram followers.

The talented nail pro painted Beyoncé in her outfit from the 2018 Grammy Awards, where she wore a black Nicolas Jebran gown and hat, Lorraine Schwartz diamonds and Alain Mikli cat-eye sunglasses.

Iveta found inspiration for two Rihanna-themed designs on Instagram, where the singer posted images of herself wearing revealing looks before the Grammys (though she didn’t wear either to the actual ceremony).

In one, the Fenty Beauty founder is painted with red sunglasses and a white lace-up bodice that gives way to red, orange and yellow flames at the tip of the nail. On the other talon, the Wild Thoughts songstress is seen with square sunglasses, a red lip and a white dress.

Clearly, Iveta is a major fan of Rihanna; her latest nail art creations posted over the weekend feature models wearing bold lip colors from the singer’s Fenty Beauty line.

The timing of the post is fitting, considering it’s Rihanna’s birthday on Tuesday.

For Nail Sunny’s Kylie Jenner manicure, the Russian salon opted for a more three-dimensional approach.

The salon made a doll-like icon of the new mother to Stormi from scratch, having been inspired by an image of Kylie proudly showing off her baby bump in a crop top and underwear.

Although rather wacky as far as nail art goes, the maternity-inspired manicure is proving a hit with Kylie’s fans, with a video of the art being created racking up an impressive 1.63 million views on Instagram.

In the clip, the intricate doll can be seen being made from scratch out of clay and was sculpted with a wooden pick by a manicurist at Nail Sunny.

The manicurist started off carving the head and then the pregnant body of Kylie, putting a tiny metal rod through the body so it stuck together.

The reason why the mini sculpture looked so realistic was because one arm was attached to her hair, while the other was holding on to the pregnant belly.

After the arms, legs and belly were sculpted, they added white foam around her head, to create Kylie’s wavy hair and let it sit and dry while moving on to the rest of the doll in the meantime.

Once the hair was perfectly applied, down to the side part, a long-sleeve purple crop top was painted on using a thin nail polish brush.

After the purple top was painted on, the next step was to paint black underwear onto the doll’s legs and while the bottom was drying, the manicurist went back in with the thin black nail polish and painted over the white hair.

The black hair was applied, and then with a very steady hand, the artist carefully painted on all of Kylie’s facial features on the small head, starting with the eyebrows, then her eyes, and lips.

After all of her features were painted on, the doll was attached to the ring finger of the left hand, with a spring which allows the body to move back and forth whenever the hands move.

The body of the miniature clay doll looks insanely realistic, although the color of the face is a bit gray and a little off from Kylie’s natural skin tone.

Regardless, the manicure was still realistic and quite time-consuming, but the nail salon is known for the crazy details and designs on its clients’ nails – and it has previously even featured Kylie’s older sister Kim in nail art form.

Fans of the 37-year-old reality star were thrilled when the salon created the funky manicure that included a tiny version of Kim twerking on a nail in a white bikini.

The Kim manicure was inspired by one of her Instagram shots, and the tiny doll can be seen with her big booty on full display, wearing nothing more than a pair of tiny white briefs and a white crop top, with her long blonde hair trailing down her back.

Capturing the entire manicure process from start to finish, the video shows the nail technician creating the mini Kim doll from scratch using just a cuticle cutter to sculpt the body out of a kind of synthetic material.

First, the body of the figurine was sketched and created, then the legs and booty were carefully crafted to resemble Kim’s, with the perky derriere taking much of the focus.

Using an electric nail drill, the technician then created two holes, one on each hip, where a pin was then placed so that both legs would be able to move back and forth once attached to the body, which was formed out of the same rubber-like material before being colored to match Kim’s own skin tone.

Then, taking a very thin nail polish brush, the artist painted on a tiny white lingerie set to resemble the one Kim is seen wearing in the recent Instagram post that inspired the entire manicure.

Although the reality star is facing forward in the photo, the figurine portrays Kim leaning forwards against the nail, and her underwear was purposefully painted on to expose as much of the doll’s backside as possible.

Hair: Once the body was formed, a long blonde ponytail was added to the head of the doll, combed with an eyebrow brush and then trimmed

Her arms are then pulled back, leaving her hands placed on her own butt, flaunting her famous asset for the world to see.

Adding some finishing touches, the artist completed the doll with a long blonde ponytail, which they attached to the sculpture and the even brushed out using an eyebrow brush.

Once they glued the blonde locks onto the head, they then gave the long mane a quick trim.

Finishing the final product, they added a spring to the center of the long nail and attached the doll to the spring so that Kim could literally bounce around and twerk while perched on the nail.

After the video and photos were shared on Nail Sunny’s Instagram account, Kim’s fans quickly drew her attention to it on social media.

Booty: A pin was added to either side of Kim’s hips to allow her legs to move freely and then a spring was attached to the nail and the doll was placed on top

Spring: After the spring was attached to the nail and doll, it made it easy to push the figurine in any direction making it look like she was actually twerking on the nails

Spring: After the spring was attached to the nail and doll, it made it easy to push the figurine in any direction making it look like she was actually twerking on the nails

One person quickly tweeted the photos of nails to Kim, writing: ‘OMG look at this nail set inspo!’ prompting the reality star to share the images on her own page, while simply commenting ‘OMG’ and a cry-laugh emoji.

The original photo that served as inspiration for Nail Sunny’s manicure was posted to Kim’s own Instagram on January 10, as an ad for Flat Tummy Co.

In the image, Kim is pictured in her kitchen wearing nothing but white lingerie while drinking a shake out of a cup that she’s holding in one hand, while in the other she has a milk carton.

Along with the photo, Kim wrote, ‘Little update for you guys. I’m on Day 9 of my Shake It Baby program from Flat Tummy Co and I’m actually feeling so good.’

She continued, ‘We had a massive Christmas this year and between my Mom’s party, Christmas and New Years.

‘I felt like it was impossible to fit in my regular work outs and eat healthy. But this program is giving me a kick in the right direction that I need.

‘These meal replacement shakes are so good and it’s helping me get my tummy back to flat in the new year.

‘The results I’m seeing and feeling are amazing and I’m so excited for the next few weeks.’

Aside from creating miniature dolls of celebrities, the salon is also known for their amazing transformations and one of the most popular was when they turned broken and battered toe nails, caused by uncomfortable shoes, into perfectly pedicured feet.

The pedicure transformation video went viral with over one million views and counting.
