BGT judges left stunned over blockbuster movie magic trick

The Britain’s Got Talent judges and audience have so far been wowed with incredible illusionist and psychological acts that have kept them guessing this series.

But Matt Sterling, 46, left the crowd gobsmacked as he performed his jaw-dropping routine during Saturday’s episode of the show.

Despite Simon’s insistence that the hunky entertainer was a bodybuilder he was in fact there to perform a magic routine.

Keeping them guessing: The Britain’s Got Talent judges and audience have so far been wowed with incredible illusionist and psychological acts that have kept them guessing this series

He revealed he was there to ‘inspire’ fear with his psychological performance, asking the judge’s to pick a card which featured the name of a film.

Taking a card Simon joked he had to turn down the lead in the film he had picked, quick to the mark Matt quipped ‘was it Shrek?’, leaving the audience in stitches.

Amanda then had to close her eyes and put her left hand in the air, before Matt touched her hand while a man set alight crossed the stage.

The incredible performance continued as a jeering audience member fell from the box of the theatre, which indicated that the name of Simon’s film was ‘Skyfall’.

While Matt also correctly guessed that Alesha’s film was The Matrix and Amanda’s was Magic Mike, as he stripped off to reveal a rippling torso.

David had high praise for the act as he told him he was ‘ready for the Royal Variety’, while Amanda told him that he was ‘confident but not arrogant’.

Derek Sandy was the first contestant of the evening, who took to the stage in very energetic fashion wearing an extremely vibrant leaf print suit to sing an original song.

Amanda Holden didn’t hold back as she boogied along to the audition, throwing her arms up in the while Derek performed an eccentric rendition of his own song Welcome to the Isle of Wight.

Alesha also shows her enthusiasm for the performance as she comments she is a massive fan of Derek’s fun snaps which appear on the backdrop behind him.

Derek has gone to great lengths with his audition piece, writing the wacky lyrics to his song and posing for a number of snaps for the backdrop of his performance.

Of Isle of Wight, he sings: ‘Welcome to the island and the land of the free. Together we’re living in harmony with hope for our future prosperity.

‘You don’t really know how much this means to me, from the golden beaches to the fields so green.’

Overjoyed with the comments Derek shouted ‘yeah man’, as Simon declared they will all be off to the Isle Of Wight as he received four yes’.

The judges were left in tears when a heroic police dog, who was almost stabbed to death saving his handler, took to the stage.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when PC Dave Wardell explained how German Shepherd Finn was knifed as he leaped between him and an attacker.

Emotional: Simon looked close to tears and told Dave: 'If I had a golden buzzer left I'd give it to you'

Simon looked close to tears and told Dave: ‘If I had a golden buzzer left I’d give it to you. When I hear about animal cruelty, especially dogs, it upsets me. A dog will literally give up its life for you. Finn’s beautiful, I love him.’

The judge, 59, then joined the duo on stage to take part in a crowd-pleasing magic trick. The 10-year-old pooch was close to death when a 10-inch blade narrowly missed his heart during the horrific attack.

The brave dog’s protective instincts kicked in and he leaped on the attacker and bit him, not letting go until police arrived.

When asked what he’d do with the winning money, Ethan revealed he would buy his mum and dad a house ‘down the country’ as well as treating himself.

But admitted that he wouldn’t bother buying any of David’s best selling children’s books, much to the judge’s dismay.

The singer showcased her vocals as she sang a song dedicated to David, and received three years for her valiant effort.

However one person who wasn’t impressed with the act, was Simon, who pressed his red buzzer the moment he realised the song wasn’t about him.

Following in her musical footsteps, next up was a one-man-band Chucklefoot who sang a song dubbed Don’t Give Granny Any Whisky At The Wedding.

Katherine, 35, and Joe, 48 made a return to the show after trying their luck last year as Beauty and The Beast.

This year they returned as Elsa and Sven from Frozen, Simon revealed that usually the acts are better the second time around.

And clearly he was right after the act received three years for their tuneful track.

Alesha used her golden buzzer the youngest ever solo act to win an automatic place in the live semi-finals.

Giorgia Borg, 10, won one of just five golden buzzer places when she performed her soulful original song ‘Ten’ before Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha on episode four of the auditions.

The vocalist, from Malta, grinned as gold confetti fell from the ceiling when the coveted button was pressed by the Boy Does Nothing hitmaker.

The singer, who has been writing her own songs since she was seven, said of her time at the Malta Junior Eurovision: ‘I auditioned at the heats stage, but I didn’t get through. There was a much bigger crowd at BGT audition and it was much more exciting.

After pressing the golden buzzer for Giorgia’s act, Alesha said: ‘You’re not even real… congratulations.

‘It takes a lot to really really move me, and you flawed me, like absolutely flawed me. Your vocal capability, your lyrical capability, you are 10-years-old!
