Biden says he is ‘outraged’ and ‘saddened’ by attack on Gaza hospital that left at least 500 dead as US intelligence works to determine who was responsible
President Joe Biden is ‘outraged’ at the attack on a Gaza hospital which killed at least 500 people, and has vowed to work out who is behind the strike.
The president, who is mid air en-route to Tel Aviv, left Washington DC as the news was unfolding.
The strike has thrown his planned trip into chaos: a scheduled meeting in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with the king of Jordan and the presidents of Egypt and Palestine has been cancelled.
Hamas says Israel was behind the attack on the hospital; Israel says that it was Palestinian militants allied with Islamic Jihad.
