Big Brother star Sonia Kruger reveals if she will support her daughter Maggie, six, following in her footsteps with a TV career

She has become a household name thanks to her incredibly successful career on Australian television. 

And now Sonia Kruger has revealed she would be more than happy for her six-year-old daughter Maggie to follow in her footsteps. 

Speaking to New Idea magazine on Monday, Sonia, who shares Maggie with her Seven news executive partner Craig McPherson, said she would have no qualms about her going into showbiz.

‘I’d be happy to see Maggie work in the media,’ she told the publication. 

‘She’s certainly getting a good education in all aspects of television, news and public affairs from her dad, and entertainment from my side.’ 

Sonia revealed the youngster already understands a lot of television jargon due to her parents roles in the industry.

And has shown interest in TV after visiting her famous mother on the set of Dancing With The Stars. 

‘[It was] one night and so far it has been her favourite thing of all time,’ Sonia said. 

‘For a six-year-old, anything that involves music, sequins, and dancing is a winner.’

Sonia is normally notoriously private about her personal life. 

But last month she said she was happier now that she and her partner Craig both work for Channel Seven. 

‘[Back when I was at Nine] it was a case of one of us coming home every day in a good mood and the other one coming home in a bad mood,’ she told  The Daily Telegraph..

‘I can say that life is definitely easier cheering for the same team.’

Sonia had previously described feeling ‘awkward’ in her marriage prior to making the high-profile move to Seven.  

‘It’s really nice to be barracking for the same team again because it can get awkward,’ she told the Not Here To Make Friends podcast last year.

‘Like when you say, ‘Yay! My team won!’ But to be on the same side again is a good thing.’

Sonia went on to reveal that Craig loves her show Big Brother, and tunes in regularly.

‘I watch him while he watches Big Brother just to get his reaction because he’s kind of not really the target audience,’ she mused.
