Big Brother: Tully Smyth has tearful meltdown after voting out Anthony Drew

Tully Smyth had an epic meltdown on Wednesday’s episode of Big Brother after she voted her ex-boyfriend Anthony Drew off the show.

The 34-year-old burst into tears as Drew began to leave the compound.

The housemates have a controversial history on the series, after making headlines during the 2013 season when they became embroiled in an affair.

They didn’t rekindle their romance this year, as Tully is happily in a relationship outside the house.

David Graham, a.k.a. Farmer Dave, was the first to vote out Drew, saying he was trying to help Tully.

‘I just want Tully to have some free air. I reckon she needs it,’ he said, which made her start to cry.

She then voted for Drew herself, but was clearly conflicted about his exit.

‘I said I wanted to come in here and play on my own this time, and it’s been really hard to do that,’ she said.

‘My point’s going on Drew… I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry… Oh, God, my heart.’

But in a surprise twist, Drew wasn’t actually eliminated but was instead sent to a secret room called The Mainframe, and will re-enter the house soon. 

During the 2013 season of Big Brother, Tully sparked outrage when she cheated on her then-girlfriend Tahlia Farrant with fellow housemate Drew.

Speaking on the Shameless podcast in 2019, she said she regretted what happened and the ‘hurt’ she caused other people.

Tully also admitted she felt pressure to keep her and Anthony’s relationship going after the show ended due to the backlash she faced.

‘I felt that. I’m not sure if [Anthony] felt that,’ she said.

‘There were six weeks when I was out there alone. He never had to deal with the repercussions of what happened. He was a rock star that turned a lesbian and I was a cheating sl**ty homewrecker.

‘I had to deal with a lot of the bulls**t before he even got out of the house.’
