Big Brother’s Sara-Marie Fedele looks unrecognisable

She was one of Australia’s first reality stars, wowing Australia with her larger-than-life personality on the first season of Big Brother.

And seventeen years after Sara-Marie Fedele introduced the nation to the ‘bum dance,’ she has popped up, looking almost unrecgnisable in a rare television appearance.

Sara-Marie appeared as a guest host on Studio 10 on Monday and looked strikingly different from her days on the now defunct reality show back in 2001.

Guess who! Seventeen years after her turn on Big Brother, Sara-Marie Fedele has popped up, looking almost unrecgnisable in a rare television appearance on Studio 10

Gone were her shoulder length peroxide blonde locks in favour of a stylish brunette ‘do’ that fell past her shoulders.

Sara-Marie, who was one of the fan favourites of the inaugural season, alongside  Blair McDonaugh and winner Ben Williams.

Her trademark bunny ears and the quirky ‘bum dance’ Sarah popularised, shot her to national stardom, releasing a book and a single, launching a sleepwear line and appearing in a slew of commercials.

Sara-Mare also revealed that her online business sees her selling personalised grains of rice that she writes names or inspirational messages on.

Looking back on her Big Brother jaunt fondly , Sara-Marie also admitted that her famous ‘bum dance’ was actually a message to siblings.

‘That was to send a signal to my sisters,’she said. ‘There’s four girls in our family and we used to do it as a joke. One sister would get out the bongo drums and I had the biggest bum so I  used to move it around.

‘I thought, ‘what could I send as a sign to my sisters that I was happy?’ So that’s how that was crated’
