Big W has unveiled a stunning new range of homeware items inspired by iconic Australian artist Florence Broadhurst.

The retailer has given new life to the masterpieces of the world-renowned wallpaper designer and Sydney socialite who tragically died in 1977 after she was murdered at her Paddington factory at the age of 78.

The new collection features quality items at affordable prices across bed linen, towels and accessories, tabletop, furniture, home décor, bath and body, with prices starting from as little as $7.

Set to hit shelves on Thursday, the range is ‘vibrant, bold and fun’, everything you would expect from a Broadhurst design, as it brings to life her incredible eye for detail and distinct style.

Australian artist Florence Broadhurst was a world-renowned wallpaper designer and Sydney socialite.

Born in 1899 in rural Queensland, she decided to travel the world to live a glamorous life after she changed her name and claimed to be an English woman.

She went to a performing arts academy in Shanghai and a fashion salon in London before returning to Australia to launch a luxury wallpaper business at age 60.

The wealthy and successful businesswoman died in October 1977 after she was brutally murdered at her Paddington factory at the age of 78. Her killer has never been found.
