Bikie found dead at Bandido clubhouse identified as former Army soldier Luke Bray

A man who died in a suspected suicide at a Bandidos clubhouse has been identified as an ex-serviceman and party boy with an ‘infectious smile’.

Luke Bray, 30, was found dead at the motorcycle club’s north Melbourne chapter headquarters shortly after 7.20am on Easter Monday.

The Brunswick man’s death sparked an outpouring of grief, with friends describing Mr Bray as a ‘real character’, a ‘genuinely good person’ who was ‘always smiling’.

One tribute to Mr Bray said ‘heaven has another gangsta up there partying it up for us’.

Mr Bray served in the Army in Afghanistan and has been described as a fun-loving man with a passion for ‘bikes and bevs’.

A close associate told Daily Mail Australia ‘you couldn’t see the pain underneath his smile’.

Patched-up Bandidos members consoled each other outside the clubhouse on Monday morning.

Police and paramedics were called to the clubhouse after receiving reports of a gunshot about 7.20am.

Many club members shared the news of Mr Bray’s death this week with the slogan ‘BFFB’ – Bandidos Forever, Forever Bandidos’.

The Brunswick clubhouse has a notorious past.

Former Bandido enforcer Toby Mitchell was shot five times in the chest outside the gym next door and three men were shot in the legs outside the joint last year.

A man was also bashed to death by three bikie associates inside the clubhouse in 2014.

However, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said this week’s death was not suspicious.

A Defence Force spokeswoman was contacted for comment.
