A former bikini model has been warned that she may be sent to prison after she stole bottles of alcohol from liquor stores in Sydney’s east just months after she was sentenced for defrauding a luxury hotel.

Stevie Bamford was due to be sentenced at Waverley Local Court on Monday after she was found guilty of three counts of larceny amounting to less than $2000.

However, when she walked into the court shortly after 10.30am wearing silver heels and her long black hair pulled into a high ponytail, the matter was adjourned.

Stevie Bamford (pictured), 31, falsely accused a tuk tuk driver of raping her in Thailand a decade ago because she didn’t want her boyfriend to be angry with her for being late

But not before magistrate Jacqueline Milledge issued a stern warning to the 31-year-old that she is ‘likely going to jail’.

‘I’ve looked at your criminal history and you really are facing a jail term,’ Ms Milledge told Bamford.

‘There needs to be a sentencing assessment report prepared, the court needs to know what is going on in your life and what to do with you… you’re not in a good place.’

Bamford nodded her head and said she ‘understood’.

The court issued a warrant for Bamford, the daughter of former rugby league international Peter Tunks, in August after she failed to appear in court.

According to court documents, the Bamford stole nearly $240 worth of alcohol from First Choice Liquor in Maroubra and Dan Murphy’s in Kingsford over three weeks in June and July.

The Malabar resident went into the liquor stores and put the alcohol – including bottles of Glenfiddich scotch and passion fruit Absolut vodka – in her bag before walking out again.

The court documents show Bamford managed to steal 22 alcohol containers, including premixed watermelon vodka drinks as well as Jack Daniels and coke cans.

According to police, Bamford committed all three brazen thefts in broad daylight.

It is the 10th set of charges for the Sydney woman in the past 10 years after the court was previously told that Bamford had been hit with nine previous charges since 2011, including assaulting a police officer, aggravated break and enter, and driving with ice and cocaine in her system.

Bamford is serving a 12-month community corrections order after being convicted of defrauding the Hilton Hotel on George St in Sydney last year.

At the time of her sentencing, the court was told Bamford had a substantial drug addiction and significant mental health issues.

The court was previously told the new charges were a breach of the bail conditions imposed on Bamford as part of her community corrections order.

On the previous occasion, a warrant was issued for Bamford’s arrest and she was found guilty in her absence.

The three larceny charges come a decade after the she made international headlines for falsely accusing a tuktuk driver of raping her in Thailand.

The then 21-year-old told Thai police that she was coming home from a night out with her boyfriend when the driver took her to a secluded area and raped her while she was held down.

She later admitted that she had lied to police because she didn’t want her boyfriend to be angry about her coming home late.

She was found guilty of making a false claim and sentenced to 15 days in a Thai detention centre.
