Bill Cosby accuser Janice Dickinson throws a celebratory peace sign

Janice Dickinson emerged in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, just days after disgraced comedian Bill Cosby was jailed for a string of historic sexual offences.

The model, who was drugged and raped by Cosby in 1982, was seen buying an ice-cream after paying a visit to Venice Beach delicatessen Salt and Straw.

Having recently spoken out following the predatory comedian’s sentencing on Tuesday, Dickinson, 63, threw a peace sign towards onlookers as she made her way onto the street.

Stepping out: Janice Dickinson emerged in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, just days after disgraced comedian Bill Cosby was jailed for a string of historic sexual offences

The former model was just one of the dozens of women who provided testimony in the sexual assault case against the disgraced comedian, who was sent to prison for between three and ten years.

‘The harrowing memory of the rape continues to this day,’ she said in a statement, through her lawyer Lisa Bloom.

‘I have reoccurring nightmares, I wake up in fear, I fear the dark. I struggle to discuss this even with my beloved husband of 6 years.’

‘The rape shattered my ability to trust,’ she continued. ‘It made me extremely wary of becoming an actress. It affected my work. It affected my lifestyle.

‘I lost a lot of spunk. I lost some of my effervescent attitude and lightness, qualities required of a model.

‘I became less motivated to meet new people, a huge component of my daily work as a model. You don’t move away from the jobs – you run towards the work. My work suffered.’

She revealed she even once moved to Milan in Italy, where she hoped not to see or hear of Cosby again.

‘The rape is etched into my soul,’ she concluded. ‘Therapy has helped some but it has not helped to restore my innocence. I was never the same. I will never be the same.’
