Bill Maher declared that Oprah Winfrey was the only viable option to beat President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

The HBO host shared his wildcard on Friday’s ‘Real Time’ after he described how Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg and the other 20 candidates would not match up enough against Trump.

‘There’s lots of people I like, but when I ask a sure thing? No, no, no, no, no,’ Maher said. ‘But then one night, when I was self medicating, a name appeared in the vapor above me. The only person who is a sure thing… is Oprah Winfrey.’

The controversial host added that he wasn’t approaching the business mogul’s name as a ‘giant fan,’ still agitated that Oprah was able to cost his show ‘Politically Correct’ ratings to drop after she began second runs of her show in 1997 on ABC.

‘What matters is Oprah alone checks all the boxes that a democrat needs to win,’ he added.

Maher goes on to list the ways in which the business mogul can galvanize vital voting blocks that could ensure her the victory, if she ever chose to run for office.

He added: ‘It is crucial to energize the African American base. Oprah? Uh, yeah, I think a little more than John Hickenlooper. She’ll make black polls rise like a Kardashian.’

The 63-year-old comedian then joked about how women are obsessed with Oprah, noting that more than 58percent of women tend to vote Democrat.

‘Women love Oprah more than they love those shops that only sell macaroons’ he said.

Of white men, he said: 'She's not their first choice, that's Kenny Chesney,' he clarified. 'But never underestimate the power of being in people's living rooms for decades. That's what got Trump elected'

He later added: ‘If Oprah is running, don’t get in the way of women on election day or you’ll be seeing the color purple.’

Maher also said that Oprah ‘doesn’t scare white men.’

‘This is now an as-seen-on-TV kind of country. White men may not love Oprah, but she’s as comfortable and familiar as a pair of cargo shorts with an elastic waistband.’

But perhaps most importantly, Maher critiqued the current state of elections and how celebrity has now become one of the most important factors when choosing a candidate.

And Oprah definitely has plenty of that.

‘I know some voters don’t want a celebrity president, but face it, that rule went out the window in 1980 when Bonzo’s co-star got elected,’ Maher added. ‘It’s not the way it’s supposed to be, it’s not the way I’d like it to be, but we officially live in a post-literate, post-truth, starf–ker society and this is gonna be the dirtiest campaign ever.’

During an April appearance on ‘The Daily Show’ with Trevor Noah, Oprah confidently stated that the audience would not ‘want that to happen’.

‘I have such a beautiful life!’ she declared. ‘Why would I want to put myself in that?’

‘I know my path, and my path isn’t that. But whenever I decide who I want to support, I will get behind that person.’
