Binky Felstead reveals she ‘lost a lot of friends’ after falling pregnant with her first child at 26

Binky Felstead has revealed she ‘lost a lot of friends’ after falling pregnant with her first child when she was 26.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 32, told MailOnline ‘people didn’t want to know me’ once she had given birth to her five-year-old daughter India and she would stay at home ‘breastfeeding’ while the rest of her friendship group partied.

In an exclusive interview, the TV personality, who’s expecting her third child after also welcoming son Wolfie in 2021, described the past few years as ‘hardcore’ and admitted to needing therapy as a result of the intense period.

She said: ‘Having India at 26, I was the first in my friends to get pregnant and I literally knew nothing or knew no one in the same position so I lost a lot of friends.

‘People didn’t want to know me because I was at home breastfeeding when they were getting ready to go clubbing with their heels on and I couldn’t think of anything worse.’

Binky, who married husband Max Darnton earlier this year, reflected on the challenges of becoming a mum for the first time while writing her new book The Making of You, which is released in February, and said she hopes readers will find solace in her experiences.

She added: ‘It will hopefully help a lot of people… there are some sad bits in there as well. I cried on a few occasions.

‘It’s an advice book but has my story in there and I get thousands of people asking me most of the time about how I cope with co-parenting, how I introduced India to Max, asking about miscarriage, so I have things from my story.

‘It was a form a therapy and I feel like I still need to process a lot of things that have happened over the last few years. It has been pretty hardcore.

‘Yes, I am only 32 but God I’ve been through a lot for a 32-year-old. Thinking about it I need to do some serious processing and should do some therapy… thank God for Max basically and for my friends. I definitely feel like I owe them.’

Binky shares daughter India with former Made In Chelsea co-star Josh Patterson and the pair co-parent after splitting in 2018 and announcing they were heading in ‘different paths’ and needed to ‘give each other the space to grow.’

A year after marrying in a civil ceremony at Chelsea’s Old Town Hall, Binky and Max, who is the father of Wolfie and their unborn child, hosted a second wedding in Corfu this summer surrounded by 100 family and friends.

In November, the couple announced they’re expecting again, with Binky saying she isn’t ‘daunted’ by the prospect of being a mum-of-three.

She said: ‘India is five and at school now, which means she is able to communicate and help, she loves helping with Wolfie and there’s no jealousy at all.

‘I was born to be a mummy and I absolutely love it. Yes, it does get stressful and it is daunting but I get on with it and I cope with it and I always ask for help if I need it.

‘As it’s another boy this one and Wolfie will be able to jam together and play football for hours in the garden together and India is still my little princess and we will have two massive bodyguards in a few years because they’re going to be humungous like their father.’

As well as becoming a mum for the third time next year, Binky teased that she will be involved in a new TV project she’s working on alongside close friend Ollie Locke, 35.

They haven’t been on screen together since Binky quit Made In Chelsea when she fell pregnant with India but their fans are keen to see them film a spinoff together.

While Ollie is still a regular cast member on the hit E4 show, which has been filming its upcoming series in Bali, Binky says she doesn’t miss being a part of the action and she can’t even bare to watch from home.

She said: ‘I loved my time on the show and I did a good 10-year stint however, the anxiety, the stress, everything that goes with it I couldn’t think about doing that.

‘If I did anything like that again they would have to put into consideration that we are now adults with proper lives and responsibilities. It was the most amazing time growing up and having done that I’m in the position I am today.

‘I always have so much love and respect for the producers and cameramen they were like a second family, but it’s changed a lot from when we filmed, and I don’t watch it anymore. I just can’t. It’s not the same show as when we were on it.’

Binky and Ollie’s friendship spans over 15 years and the pair are now hoping audiences can have an insight into their connection with their top-secret project.

They have teamed up together this month with Three+, who are offering Caffe Nero customers a coffee for just a £1 via their rewards app.

Binky teased: ‘We can’t confirm what it is yet but it’s definitely something we have been asked to do for a few years now and since I stopped filming the show five years ago.

‘I stopped filming when I was pregnant with India and she’s now five, I do bits and bobs occasionally, which is always fun but having nearly three children I couldn’t do the filming hours or days or the stress but what’s coming will be fun for people to witness.’

Ollie added: ‘Me and Binks are terrible at making coffee. If you download the Three+ app, which is available on pay as you go or contract, and if you’re disastrous like us at making coffee you can get it for £1 including their festive drinks, which is lovely.’
