Blind baby shrews follow their mother in China

This adorable footage shows a family of blind baby shrews clinging onto each other’s tails to make sure they don’t get separated from their mother. 

The heartwarming clip of the tiny animals was taken in Fuzhou City in China’s southeastern Fujian Province.

The shrews have incredibly poor eyesight and the babies are almost blind so to avoid getting lost they bite onto the tail of the shrew in front.

As they move forwards in a tight single file, the mother stops and peers back to make sure no-one has been left behind
