Blogger slams man who asked how drunk they’d have to be for him to ‘get away with some cheekiness’

A man has been slammed for messaging a woman ‘how drunk would we have to be so I could get away with some cheekiness’ on a dating app.

Lauren Crouch, 31, from Islington, London, shared the ‘creepy’ message that she received from a man named Danny.

She replied on dating app Hinge, telling Danny that it was a ‘s*** opening message’, adding ‘Kinda makes you sound like you enjoy getting women wasted and enjoy taking advantage of them’.

Lauren, who runs the dating blog Bad Dates Good Stories, later revealed her friend’s housemate had also received the exact same message from the man.

The screenshots show how the man named Danny started by messaging Lauren: ‘Hey, so how drunk would we have to be so I could get away with some cheekines’

Lauren then responded ‘So you prefer the women you date to be under the influence when you hit on them?’, to which he replied ‘The rejection isn’t as harsh’.

In a longer message, Lauren then said: ‘That’s a s*** opening message Danny. Kinda makes you sound like you enjoy getting women wasted and taking advantage of them which is just weird.

‘And opening on a sexual message also make[s] you come across as someone looking to just get laid rather than establish literally any other connection.

‘And I can preface your response to this “jeez it was just a joke” because literally every guy who leads with a message with a perverted undertone and gets called out on it just loves to play that card.’

Lauren added: ‘Anyway happy Sunday. May it be filled with avocados with a great stone to flesh ration and a fantastic roast dinner’.

She later revealed her friend’s housemate had also received the same opening line from Danny, posting: ‘Plot twist. Just got this from my mate….It’s her housemates phone.’

Her friend’s housemate had replied to Danny’s message by saying ‘Do you realise you’re all over Insta and Twitter with this creepy comment that you send to literally all the women?’

Other social media users were quick to respond to the man’s messages, with one posting: ‘What the actual f***?’

Another commented ‘Jesus…’, while one added: ‘F***ing hell that’s grim.’

Lauren later told another followed that she felt the need to respond to Danny’s message ‘To show him it’s not ok’.
