Bloomsbury apartment where Bob Marley lived hits the market for £1.65 million

An apartment once belonging to Bob Marley located in a Victorian mansion block in Bloomsbury has hit the market for £1.65 million.

Originally home to the Jamaican reggae musician, the four-bedroom, entrance floor flat at Ridgmount Gardens in central London, offers a stunning view of the pristine residents’ garden, not to mention a coveted Blue Plaque on the house.

The property was home of Marley in 1972 when he first came to London to try and launch his career outside of Jamaica.

After being invited by Johnny Cash to support his UK tour, Marley and his band the Wailers played gigs around the capital to try and land a big record deal. Eventually they met Chris Blackwell, owner of independent Island Records which led to international success and fame for the reggae stars.
