Bluey: Mum leaves the internet in stitches with her hilarious ‘Bingo toast’ fail

A mum has left hundreds of parents in hysterics by sharing her failed attempt at a popular breakfast trend.

Madison took inspiration from a cookbook and attempted to impress her Bluey-obsessed kids by making toast in the shape of Bingo – Bluey’s younger sister.

But the end result didn’t turn out as planned as Bingo’s face looks shocked rather than cute and cuddly.

‘Our “attempt” at Bingo toast,’ Madison wrote and shared images to the Bluey Mums Facebook group comparing what the toast should’ve looked like.

The kids cartoon about blue heeler puppy Bluey and her adventures has become a worldwide phenomenon since starting in 2018.

Expectation: Mum Madison wanted to make ‘Bingo toast’ (pictured) for her children who are obsessed with the ABC cartoon Bluey

The main difference between the inspiration and Madison’s version is the size of the blueberries, which were used for Bingo’s eyes and nose.

The blueberries chosen were too small, making it seem like the character has wide-eyes and a surprised look on her face.

The recipe itself is quite simple and requires few ingredients – including bread, banana, blueberries and peanut butter.

The breakfast idea came from the $12 Amazon book titled ‘Bluey and Bingo’s Fancy Restaurant Cookbook’.

How to make ‘Bingo toast’

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of toast
  • 1 slice of white bread
  • 3 blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • Peanut butter, jam or chocolate spread

Method:

Cut the banana into slices

Snip two toast triangles for Bingo’s ears

Add your chosen flavoured spread along the edges

Pop two banana slices onto Bingo’s ears

Stack up the rest of the banana to make up Bingo’s eyes, eyebrows and snout. Then add grapes or blueberries to finish off her eyes and nose

Many parents were left in stitches after seeing Madison’s attempt.

‘Bingo has seen things,’ one joked, another said: ‘Looks better than the picture I’d say!’

‘It is a thousand percent better than anything I could make but also Bingo looks like she is tweaking [sic],’ a third wrote.

Dozens of other mums have also tried to make Bingo toast themselves, and the results were varied.

In one image, Bingo looks more like red fox than a blue heeler dog, and in another she had red jelly eyes.

Despite their best efforts, other mums admitted they also struggled. But regardless their children still enjoyed the Bingo toast.

‘I have zero skills to do this stuff! But my daughter loved it and ate all the bread (she was refusing bread for a while),’ one mum wrote.

‘My daughter loved it though and that’s all that matters,’ another said.

It comes after a young woman shared images of her ‘cake fail’ after attempting to recreate a Bluey birthday cake made by professional baker Tegan ‘Tigga’ Maccormack.

The dessert was meant to be easy to create, as it involves cutting up a pre-made Woolworths mudcake then adding icing over the top.

Lucy, from Melbourne, decided to give it a go herself after seeing the video on TikTok, but found the execution difficult than first thought and was disappointed with the outcome.

The original design looked adorable and was made with icing to match the exact colour of the character, along with marshmallow eyes and wafer ears.

But Lucy’s version looked nothing like the inspiration and instead appeared corrupt with a square wafer mouth and melted icing everywhere.

Sharing an image of the hilarious end result on Facebook, Lucy wrote: ‘Enjoy this absolute abomination – it looked easy on TikTok.’

The wooden skewers seen sticking out of the head also were likely intended to hold the ears in place.

The end result left hundreds on Facebook in hysterics but some said their child would’ve ‘loved’ this cake, despite how it looks.

‘This is the honesty I needed in my life,’ one woman wrote, another said: ‘It’s very cute despite not being like the picture.’

‘The two sticks just did it for me. 10/10 for effort though!’ a third wrote.

‘I just showed my seven-year-old, he says, “keep trying!” Then he says to me, “but it looks so bad she should probably eat the whole thing.” It’s amazing,’ another added.

Someone else said: ‘OMG I genuinely love it ! It made me smile, thank you for sharing.’
