A range of Bob Hawke’s treasured mementos are set to go up for action and are expected to make a total of $250,000.

Bob Hawke and Blanche d’Alpuget’s Mementos Curiosities Art and Design Collection contains 235 items in 300 lots and will be on view on August 24 and 25 at their former home in Northbridge, Sydney.

The former Australian prime minister’s widow has decided to auction off art works, diplomatic gifts, mementos and designer furniture after downsizing to a $3.63million apartment.

An oil canvas painted by Euan Macleod, a New Zealand-born Australian artist, titled Lone Figure in Gully, 1991, is expected to go for $14,000 – $18,000

Andrew Shapiro, from Shapiro Auctioneers and Gallery, said the items present important moments in Australia’s history.  

‘The home that Bob Hawke and Blanche d’Alpuget shared had an eclectic mix of 20th-century design furniture,’ he told Domain.

Prices range from $100 to an eye-watering $18,000 for fine art.

Art works by famous Australian artists Tom McAuley, Hugh Sawrey and Leanne Wanjidari are also set to be auctioned off. 

Cigar boxes including a Versace ashtray and his gold-plated cigar cutter are also going under the hammer.

Furniture sets by famous Italian designers Paolo Piva and Antonio Citterio are also going to be auctioned off between $500 – $2,500 

A photo frame with a photo of Mr Hawke and Ms d’Alpuget along with former prime minister Kevin Rudd and his wife Therese Rein is priced between $100 – $200. 

Mr Hawke died on May 16 aged 89.  

He was Labor’s longest-serving PM, winning elections in 1983, 1984, 1987 and 1990.  

The auction will be held on August 27 and 6pm.
