The harrowing moment that cops revived a man who overdosed on opiods was caught on camera.

Police in Peachtree, Georgia, found an unidentified man unconscious in the parking lot of a Days Inn on February 6.

In the video police begin to administer CPR to the man, who was limp and unresponsive – he also had no pulse and was not breathing. They then began to realize that the man was a drug overdose victim.

In the nick of time, officers administered the lifesaving opioid antidote drug Narcan, which saved the man’s life. The officers are now being hailed as heroes in their hometown.

The officers quickly began performing CPR on the victim before realizing he'd overdosed

Peachtree officers quickly jumped into action, performing CPR on the overdose victim before realized he was unsonscious because of the drugs, which led them administer Narcan

‘I think they did amazing,’ said Lt. Odilia Bergh of the Peachtree City Police Department to Fox 5 Atlanta.

When they responded to the call about the overdose, Bergh said officers weren’t sure of the severity of the situation immediately, until they saw that the man was in immediate danger.

‘Initially, they weren’t sure. The great thing about Narcan is if you don’t need it, it’s not going to hurt you. The moment that they started asking investigatory questions, nothing made sense. So, the officers wanted to make sure they took all precautions,’ Bergh said.

Officers in Peachtree and many surrounding areas carry the drug Narcan as a lifesaving intervention drug – it’s needed with opioid overdoses on the rise nationwide.

Police said that regarding the man’s overdose, they’d investigate where he attained the drugs that made him overdose and would bring charges against whoever sold them.
