Body found in hunt for missing girl

The body of missing schoolgirl Holly Clacy was found on Monday evening 

A body has been found in the hunt for missing schoolgirl Holly Clacy.

Holly, from Essex, had last been seen in her school uniform on Monday, leaving William de Ferrers school.

Essex Police received a call around 4.10pm on Monday with concerns for her welfare.

Her body was found later the same evening.  

A spokesman for Essex Police said: ‘Sadly at around 7.45pm [on November 20], police received reports that a body of a girl – believed to be 15 – had been discovered in woodland in Radar Hill, South Woodham Ferrers.

‘Police are not treating her death as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

‘Officers are currently supporting the family during this difficult time.’  

Residents took to social media to pay tribute to Holly.  

Amy Slatter, from Chelmsford, said: ‘I don’t know anyone that isn’t heartbroken. I cried for the girl and her family today. Rest in peace angel, and I send my love to her family.’

Liz Barbrooke, of Woodham Ferrers, said: ‘Rest in peace Holly, you were such a lovely girl. My kids and your friends will never forget you.’

Kelly Fagelund, 47, from South Woodham Ferrers, whose daughter was friends with the girl, said: ‘Rest in peace. May you rest in peace beautiful child, may the Lord be a nearby presence to your family and loved ones at this time.

‘May you fly free on the wings of angels, I didn’t know you but my daughter was at school with you, you were special and her friend, you will be missed and always remembered.’

Holly’s school has not yet commented on her death.
