Body language experts weigh in on Stu Laundy Sophie Monk

After months of keeping their relationship a secret, The Bachelorette’s Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy have made their debut appearance as a couple.

And while the pair claim to be in the throws of romance, body language experts have speculated that things may not be as they seem.

After seeing a photo of Sophie and Stu alongside KIIS FM’s Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, expert Diederik Gelderman told Daily Mail Australia: ‘Stu is doing the ‘I’m responsible for everything’ pose. Its a very territory claiming position.’

Read between the lines! After seeing this new photo of Sophie and Stu alongside KIIS FM’s Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, experts have weighed in on what the Bachelorette couple’s body language means

‘It’s a little along the line of ‘I own everything this / these people are my territory”, he posited.

‘Stu’s face, posture and especially smile are slightly arrogant/ condescending.’

He went on: ‘It seems he believes he owns / claims the two ladies (Sophie and Jackie). I really can’t get a good enough look at their eyes to see whether the smiles are genuine – I’m thinking Sophie’s isn’t’

In contrast, celebrity sexologist Nikki Goldstein said of the image: ‘I actually don’t think there is anything wrong with this photo. I think he is being inclusive of Kyle and I also think media things like this always are a bit awkward.’

‘We saw a very vulnerable Stu last night and a very affectionate one and I think that if he isn’t playing up to the cameras as we have seen many past bachelor and bachelorette couples then it could be a sign he is being his authentic self.’

The body language expert, who is known for her popular podcast called Sex And Life, went on to say: ‘Stu is probably aware that everyone will be analysing his every move.’

‘It would make anyone feel awkward and not know what to do with their hands and body positions during a photo that will be shared to millions,’ she reflected.

It comes amid rumours that Sophie and Stu are no longer together.

Unlike previous Bachelorette couples, Sophie and Stu have failed to post the traditional social media video officially announcing their relationship despite the finale airing on Thursday night.
