Body of 31-year-old man is discovered in middle of road following carnival in quaint Cornish village

  • Police have launched an investigation after a motorist found the body at St Teath
  • Officers have located the victim’s family, but he has not been formally identified 
  • Police helicopter has been overflying the area around St Teath and Delabole

The body of a 31 year old man was discovered in a road in Cornwall after a carnival.

A passing motorist made the shocking discovery in on the B3267 road at St Teath at around 1.20am this morning.

Devon and Cornwall police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses. 

Officers are treating the death as unexplained.

Police have located the victim’s family but he has not been formally identified.

The road remained closed as inquiries continue by specialist investigators.

A Devon and Cornwall police spokesman said: ‘Police are currently treating this death as unexplained and are appealing for witnesses.

‘Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area prior to the collision or who may have information that could assist police with this investigation including dashcam footage.

‘Police were called at around 1.20am this morning (28 July) after the body of a man was located in the road by a passing motorist on the B3267 St Teath near Camelford.’

The police helicopter has been overflying the area around St Teath and Delabole.
