The search for Mr Mohammed’s body was called off on Wednesday but it was located by a fishing boat just north of Port Macquarie about midday on Thursday.

The body ‘Hero’ Indian immigrant Junaidh Mohammed, 28, (pictured) who leapt into the sea to save three children caught in a rip, has been found

Mr Mohammed had entered the treacherous water on Monday along with his relatives Syed Rahath, 35, and Ghouseuddin Mohammed, 45, to help save Ghouseuddin’s three children.

His two daughters, 13 and 17, and son, aged 15, had been pulled out in a rip. All three teenagers made it back to land safely, but Ghouseuddin and Mr Rahath were both swept to sea north of Coffs Harbour.

Paramedics did their best to revive the pair, but were unsuccessful.

It’s understood the group were visiting the popular tourist town from Sydney’s west.
