A student at the University of Houston committed suicide and was discovered at an academic building on campus.
The unidentified student was found at Agnes Arnold Hall, The Houston Chronicle citing a college spokesperson reported.
The pupil’s body was recovered Wednesday morning, The Chronicle added.
History, modern and classical languages, philosophy, African-American studies and other departments are all housed inside Agnes Arnold Hall.

The school’s student government has been actively engaged with mental health initiatives this year, displaying more than 1,000 T-shirts on campus grounds to represent student suicide deaths.
UH’s counseling center director, Norma Ngo, said the school has recently changed policies and now welcomes student walk-ins.

Before the change last month, students would have to wait weeks in advance to speak with a mental health professional, according to The Chronicle.
Every year, over 1,100 students commit suicide on campuses across the country.
Experts say that men between the ages of 20 to 24 commit suicide four times as often as women.
But, they add, women are three times as likely to attempt suicide as their male counterparts.
