Wife of millionaire fake tan mogul sarcastically thanks her insurance company for replacing her stolen $250K Porsche SUV with a $40K Subaru Forester

The wife of a millionaire business executive has expressed her frustrations after an insurance company replaced her stolen Porsche SUV with a humble Subaru.

Blair James, the CEO of fake tan empire Bondi Sands, and his pregnant wife Melanie made headlines last month after their black 2021 Porsche Cayenne GTS was stolen from the driveway of their Melbourne mansion.

On Wednesday, Melanie revealed things had gone from bad to worse after she received a budget-friendly Subaru Forester as a replacement vehicle from her insurer.

The average price of a new model Subaru Forester SUV is around $40,000, while the Porsche Cayenne GTS costs around $250,000.

Posting on Instagram Stories to complain, Melanie shared a photo of her hand resting on the steering wheel of her replacement car, making sure to capture a glimpse of her huge diamond engagement ring.

The thieves found the car keys and took Melanie’s luxury Luis Vuitton handbag and wallet before climbing out of a window and speeding off in the couple’s Porsche.

‘It sounded like small footsteps, almost like a child running down the hallway,’ Blair told 3AW host Neil Mitchell.

‘It took a while to cotton on what was happening. We see didn’t any trace of how they got in to begin with or where they got out but we eventually found a window.

‘It happened pretty quickly. We were in quite a bit of shock obviously as it was happening.’

Blair also detailed the terrifying ordeal in a series of Instagram stories.

‘We heard them running down out the hallway and got out of bed, by that time they had jumped out the window and started the car,’ he posted.

‘Then another car pulled up and people jumped out of the car and into mine and it sped off. They also stole my bag with my wallet in it. I hate people.’

In another story Melanie wrote: ‘It doesn’t help being 21 weeks pregnant!’

The car – which has the number plates MVA 0 – is yet to be recovered.

The theft came a month after the couple announced on social media they were expecting their first child, due in October.
