Residents have been hung out to dry as their strata company cracks down on pegs left on the clothesline.

The ‘important notice’ was shared on Facebook and captioned, ‘Peg possession is a serious issue in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.’

‘It has been reported that pegs are being left on the clotheslines,’ the letter read.

‘As a general reminder, the clotheslines are shared property and all pegs should be removed after use, to minimise confusion over peg possession.

‘We would appreciate your co-operation in this matter.’

According to NSW Strata Laws, there is no law stopping people from leaving their pegs out. 

Users were quick to comment and share a few jokes at the ‘serious’ matter. 

‘Serious business peg possession! You wouldn’t want to be caught with the wrong peg!’ one person wrote. 

‘Strata summed up in one notice. First world problems,’ another wrote. 

‘Think you should peg the letter,’ one person suggested. 

One person commented that they were ‘tempted to fill the clothes line one night with hundreds of pegs’.
