Book Club 2 trailer: Jane Fonda embarks on an Italian getaway as she prepares to walk down the aisle

Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenbergen and Diane Keaton are going on a crazy girls trip in the new Book Club: The Next Chapter trailer.

In her latest film, the Monster-in-Law actress, 85, is about to be a bride again, or rather her character Vivian is.

Fans will remember at the end of 2018’s Book Club, Vivian (Fonda) and Don Johnson’s Arthur, got engaged.

When Vivian breaks the news that they’re looking for a church for the ceremony, 76-year-old Candice’s Sharon quips, ‘You’re going to get married in a church? I’m shocked you didn’t burst into flames as you crossed the threshold.’

To celebrate, pals Carol, Diane and Sharon decided to take their friend on one final adventure.

‘I think we should all go to Italy,’ suggests 70-year-old Mary’s Carol. ‘We’ll make it Viv’s bachelorette.’

Diane, 77, whose character is also named Diane, is hesitant to do something so outlandish, explaining to her partner, Andy Garcia’s Mitchell, ‘A bachelorette trip? I mean, what are we doing?’

To which Mitchell answers, ‘I think it’s very romantic.’

The ladies jet off to Rome where they discover the Coliseum isn’t the only antiquity being admired.

When two men on a motorcycle ride by them, one of them speaks to the quartet in Italian, which, with the help of a translator on the mobile phone is translated to ‘The older the vines, the sweeter the fruit.’

‘We still got it!’ exclaims Vivian, who is decked out in an animal print ensemble and wearing a bridal veil and ‘Bride to be’ sash.

As Viv gets ready to tie the knot, romance seems to be just around the corner for the unattached Carol and Sharon.

After being admitted to a last minute dinner reservation, Carol is surprised to come face to face with an old flame.
