Boris Becker gets a playful kick from his lover as they stroll along Dubai beach

It’s panto season and in these pictures it seems Boris Becker clearly had no idea what was behind him.

During a romantic Boxing Day stroll along the beach, the former tennis ace’s girlfriend Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro hit him with a surprise volley – playfully kicking him in his rear as he bent down to cool off in the surf. 

Miss de Carvalho Monteiro and the 54-year-old former Wimbledon champion were seen teasing each other as they relaxed on an afternoon walk along the shore at the Cove Beach Club in Dubai.

It seems he took the strike in good spirit – the couple continued to walk with their arms wrapped around each other. Miss de Carvalho Monteiro, believed to be in her 40s, is a political risk analyst and began dating Becker last summer

At one point Becker, in a grey Puma T-shirt and black shorts, wetted his hair in order to cool down in the warm sunshine.

She speaks five languages and has three degrees, including a masters in African studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.
