Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement with Donyell Malen and his representatives over a summer switch to the Bundesliga, according to reports.

Malen has become one of the most wanted youngsters in European football thanks to his standout performances for Holland at Euro 2020.

The 22-year-old has been courting interest from the Premier League, though has now reached an agreement over a potential contract with Dortmund, according to Sport Bild in Germany.

Dortmund are very much in the market for forwards after sanctioning the sale of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United, who completed his Old Trafford medical on Tuesday.

Malen had been heavily tipped to return to Arsenal, where he started as a youth player before returning to Holland with PSV.

Bild also add that Dortmund have dropped their interest in former Tottenham academy star Noni Madueke, who also plays his football alongside Malen at PSV.

It is reported that Malen is keen on the move, given the strong likelihood of game time amid the uncertainty over Erling Haaland’s future.

Dortmund remain steadfast on their stance that Haaland will not be sold this summer, despite a growing queue of suitors.

In recent days Ex-Dortmund captain and soon to be sporting director Sebastian Kehl told Sky Germany: ‘There is nothing new on this matter. He is in our plans.

‘Erling will return this week and he will be very hungry. He wants to play football, he feels comfortable with us and he will be eager to score many goals.’

The comments come not long after current sporting director Michael Zorc played down suggestions that Haaland could leave the club.

Chelsea have emerged as a frontrunner for Haaland, with owner Roman Abramovich said to be willing to meet a £150m for the Norwegian striker.

Haaland has a £70m release clause in his Dortmund contract which can be activated next summer.
