Borussia Monchengladbach 1-1 Bayern Munich: Champions held after Robert Lewandowski cancels out Alassane Plea’s opener in first game of the Bundesliga season

Borussia Monchengladbach held Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw in Julian Nagelsmann’s first league match in charge of the champions.

Monchengladbach took an early lead through Alassane Plea’s strike, Robert Lewandowski equalised shortly before half time.

Next up for Bayern is the DFL Supercup final against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, while Gladbach travel to Bayer Leverkusen on August 21.
