Boxing Day shoppers flee London’s Oxford Street

At least one person was injured after chaos broke out on London’s Oxford Street today upon reports of a smashed window at House of Fraser.

Shoppers reportedly fled the store after believing they heard shots fired – but police say there is ‘nothing to indicate shots fired’ at the store. 

The injured woman is believed to have hurt her head while fleeing House of Fraser.

A window on the back of the House of Fraser store on Henrietta Place has reportedly been smashed. 

The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: ”Local officers and armed officers are on scene in Oxford Street, W1. They responded to reports of shots heard. 

‘Nothing to indicate shots fired. One woman with non-life threatening injuries as a result of a fall.’ 

It remains unclear what exactly happened or if the culprit has been apprehended.
