Boy, 15, is hit and killed by a bus in Brighton

  • The teenager was walking on Marine Parade shortly before 1am when he was hit

A 15-year-old boy has died after being hit by a double-decker bus while walking on Brighton sea front on Saturday morning, Sussex Police has said. 

The teenager was walking on Marine Parade, close to the junction with Burlington Street, shortly before 1am when he was hit.

The boy, from Brighton, was rushed to the Royal Sussex County Hospital but was declared dead at 1.19am.

His family has been informed, police said.  

The road was closed to enable collision investigation work to take place and a contraflow remained in place on Saturday morning. 

Pictures of the bus showed the front window was damaged. 

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to report online or call 101 quoting Operation Rivington.
