A 17-year-old boy has died after being shot in a south London street in the the capital’s 62nd gun and knife death this year.
Police officers were called to reports of gunshots on Cooks Road in Southwark at 6.05pm on Saturday.
The teenager was found injured with a gun shot wound on nearby Warham Street and was pronounced dead just before 7pm.
Scotland yard have said that the victim is yet to be formally identified but his next of kin have been informed.
No arrests have been made and detectives are investigating.
The shooting marks the latest in a series of murders to hit London amid concerns for the rising murder rate.
