A little boy has been left fighting for life after tumbling from a third storey window. 

The six-year-old boy fell ten metres out of a window of an apartment building on Illawarra Road in Marrickville, in Sydney’s inner west, on Wednesday. 

Three ambulance crews arrived at the unit complex just before 1:45pm and found the little boy unconscious on the scene.

The six-year-old was treated for significant head and chest injuries by attending paramedics, which included an intensive care team.

The little boy was then placed in an induced coma and transported to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.

NSW Ambulance Inspector Lucky Phrachanh said first responders on the scene worked quickly to stabilise the injured boy. 

‘Initial reports that a child had fallen from the third storey were heartbreaking,’ Phrachanh said.

‘Our paramedics and medical team worked quickly to stabilise him before transporting.

‘This was an alarming reminder that accidents can occur so please keep a watchful eye on your kids.’
