A boy away at summer camp was hospitalized on Tuesday after he slipped from a zip line.
Police in Winslow said in a press release the horrific accident took place at Camp Caribou around 5pm.
The unidentified eight-year-old boy fell from the zip line and hit his head on a boat below, resulting in his hospitalization for non-life threatening but serious injuries.

Maine State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release the boy collided with a row boat in the pond below
‘The boy, along with several others, were using the zip line to enter the water from a height of about 50 feet,’ Maine State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland said in the release.
‘The boy collided with a row boat in the pond that was being used as a safety boat with a camp staffer on board. The boat may have drifted into the path of the zip line.’
State fire marshals have since been inspecting the camp equipment.
