The schoolboy’s shattered mother, Leanne Tindale, shared pictures on Sunday night of him on his hospital bed with tubes protruding from his nose.

She told MailOnline: ‘When Oliver was in a coma I was extremely worried. But thankfully he’s getting there and is recovering on the heart ward now.’

Ms Whitehead said doctors need to conduct more tests to find out why his heart stopped twice.

She said Oliver is confused can’t remember what happened.

Police are investigating the incident. A Humberside Police spokeswoman said: ‘We were called to reports of an altercation at a school in the East Riding area on Friday morning, just after 11am.

‘A teenage boy was taken to hospital after falling unconscious shortly after the incident. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

‘Two teenage boys were arrested in connection with the incident, both have been bailed while inquiries continue.’
