Brazen thief steals MacMillan charity tin in Portsmouth

A thief has been caught stealing a charity tin from a truck stop in Portsmouth.

Shocking CCTV footage shows the man enter the Portsmouth Truckstop in Hampshire and take off with the tin, which was collecting money for MacMillan Cancer Support. 

The surveillance video shows a man wearing a peaked cap enter the truckers store.

The man is seen sizing up a series of charity tins. He dismisses the first one, presumably because it is too empty

The man is seen lifting one tin and quickly replacing it, before snatching the one beside it – the presumably heavier one – and stuffing it up his coat.

He then loiters in the shop for several seconds before making off out the door.  

The theft occurred in just in 20 seconds. 

It is not known whether the thief has been caught.
