A bartender has vowed never to drink-drive again after colliding with a traffic light while two times over the booze limit.
Bree Maddison Brown, 22, lost control of her silver Mazda and hit the light in Currumbin Waters, Gold Coast, on October 11 – leaving it ‘damaged beyond repair’, Coolangatta Magistrates Court heard.
Brown, from Brisbane, was uninjured in the crash, which took place at 6.25pm, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported.

She recorded a blood-alcohol level of 0.117, more than twice the limit of 0.05.
Brown on Monday pleaded guilty to one count of driving while over the middle alcohol limit.
She told the court that the crash was ‘a big wake up call for me’.
Magistrate Kerry Magee said Brown was ‘very fortunate’ she had not injured anyone in the smash.
Brown was fined $650 and had her driving licence suspended for four months. No conviction was recorded.
