Brendan Fraser sweetly fist bumps fan who said he made her ‘childhood so awesome’

Brendan Fraser made a fan’s day when he sweetly fist bumped her at a meet-and-greet at Calgary Expo in Canada this week.

The 53-year-old actor, best known for his roles in George Of The Jungle and The Mummy franchise, was in great spirits as he signed autographs for fans at the fun event.

And Brendan left one girl with a huge smile on her face thanks to their pleasant interaction in which she thanked him for making her ‘childhood so awesome’.

Nice guy: Brendan Fraser made a fan’s day when he sweetly fist bumped her at a meet-and-greet at Calgary Expo in Canada this week

A video shared on the girl’s TikTok page saw her greet the down-to-earth star, asking ‘how are you today’ as he signed a Funko Pop of himself for her.

As he signed the box, Brendan correctly pronounced her name, at which she expressed her shock at him doing so as her name is commonly mispronounced.

Responding, Brendan told her: ‘I’ve had a lifetime of people mispronouncing my name, I know what it’s like.’

As the two shared the nice moment, the fan then told Brendan: ‘thanks for making my childhood so awesome’.

The film star has a reputation for being super down-to-earth with fans, with another recent TikTok video seeing him become emotional as a devotee told him that everyone was ‘rooting’ for him, with Brendan then responding that ‘wasn’t aware there was that much support’ for him.

In recent months, Brendan has been hard at work filming dramatic Batgirl scenes as supervillain Firefly in Glasgow.

In January, the actor, was seen leaving a burning pharmacy clutching a bottle of pills for the eerie scene.

He opted for a casual ensemble, wearing a khaki jacket, cap and dark trousers and had white bandages wrapped around his hands.

Brendan looked tense as he shot the scenes, rushing from the premises and looking down at the pill bottle he had taken.

There was an extensive crew on site overseeing the action, all of whom were wearing face masks.

Meanwhile in March, stuntmen for Leslie Grace and Brendan were pictured filming a dramatic late night bike chase scene for the Batgirl film.

The protagonist’s double could be seen wearing the famous ensemble of the superheroine and coordinating face mask as she shot spellbinding scenes.

A man wearing a terrifying metallic mask and an equally rusty set of scuba diving tank on his back sported an all-black leather ensemble and boots.

He was thought to be stepping in for Brendan’s character Firefly, a super-villian and sociopathic pyromaniac, which was soon evident by the fires in the city.

Already a household name thanks to his starring role in Tarzan spoof George Of The Jungle, Fraser became a screen icon after playing swashbuckling Richard ‘Rich’ O’Connell in The Mummy franchise.

The actor is now enjoying a career renaissance after stepping away from the spotlight, with Batgirl following a prominent role in new Martin Scorsese film Killers of the Flower Moon.

Batgirl will follow Barbara, the daughter of Gotham Police Commissioner James Gordon, played by J.K. Simmons – who reprises the role he first brought to life in 2017 box office hit Justice League.

Actress Leslie Grace will take the lead, while Michael Keaton is set to return as Batman some 30-years after his last appearance as the Caped Crusader.

Keaton played the very first Dark Knight on the big screen in 1989 release Batman, a role he reprised in 1992 smash Batman Returns.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, whose previous credits include Bad Boys For Life, are directing the film from a script by Christina Hodson.

While it doesn’t have an official release date, Batgirl it is expected to debut on new streaming service HBO Max and forego a theatrical release.
