Brian Conley has marked 25 years of marriage with his wife Anne-Marie.

Taking to Instagram to post a snap of them looking as loved-up as ever, Brian – who turns 60 this weekend – penned: ‘What a special day! 25 years of adventures with this beautiful lady by my side.

‘I’m so proud to call you my wife, my friend, my soulmate. 25 years of togetherness. In this business that must be a record.

Taking to Instagram to post a snap of them looking as loved-up as ever, Brian – who turns 60 this weekend – penned: ‘What a special day! 25 years of adventures with this beautiful lady by my side!’

Their daughters shared snaps, with Lucy posting a picture of the loved-up pair recently, wishing them a happy anniversary, and Amy sharing a throwback snap.

Anne-Marie also posted, penning: ’25 years ago I married this amazing man. We met in 1991 after being introduced by the legendary Ray Alan and his wife Jane. He was getting ready to go on stage as Buttons at Wimbledon theatre.

‘I remember thinking “Blimey he’s wearing a lot of makeup” (I’m not in showbiz). Our first date was at The Victoria Palace Theatre to see Buddy. His first joke to me was “do you wanna see a photo of my kids”.

‘My heart sunk a little as I was only 24 and not ready for that… anyway he pulled out a picture of two goats! (many of you know this one well). Anyway I think I fell in love that very night and I love him now even more.

‘That photo of the two goats is now a photo of our two gorgeous daughters Amy and Lucy. He’s my best friend (alongside you Hayley Edwards ��), my soul mate, my everything. Here’s to the next 25 ❤️❤️❤️’

The couple wed in 1996, eight months after Brian proposed while wearing a suit of armour.

‘I proposed as a knight in armour, with a choir, like you do!’ he once told The Mirror.

They married at Stoke Poges chapel in Buckinghamshire and were driven off from the nuptials in the car used in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Brian has recently joined the cast of EastEnders as Sonia Fowler’s long-lost father Terry Cant.  

He admitted that he burst into tears after hearing he landed the part in the iconic BBC soap after months of being out of work due to the coronavirus lockdown.

In a new interview in the Radio Times, the actor told how his new role made him ‘really appreciative of how lucky I am’ after being forced to take a career hiatus that he’s ‘never experienced before’.

Speaking on how he felt after getting the phone call, he said: ‘Were it not for Covid, I’d have been touring with 9 to 5 the Musical. But instead, there was this career hiatus that I’d never experienced before – and I’ve had my Equity card since I was 12. So, I cried when they said I’d got the part. 

Discussing why he became so emotional, Brian explained that being on the soap meant a lot because it was his late father Colin’s ‘favourite show’, adding that his father, who died of bowel cancer, become ‘obsessed ‘ with the soap in the last six months of his life.

He added that proud Colin used to work as a prop man in production and while in charge of outside broadcast units at the BBC, he used to put Brian’s tour posters up on the wall, which were visible in the background of scenes.
